PICNIC/FUN DAY with obedience demo, CGC, fun exhibits.
hoping for many Akitas and their owners, from the USA and Canada, to join us
for a day of enjoyment!
be from 11am to 4pm -- rain or shine. We have many large covered pavillions,
a full kitchen, electricity and loads of space!! Open to anyone owning an
Akita -- adopters, breeders, trainers, owners -- we love Akitas and want to
see them all!!! Easy unload and access, no steps or stairs, large parking
Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test. This year appointments are being taken
ahead of time to insure your space!! Every dog should have a CGC
especially in light of breed specific legislation, the rise of dog bits,
and insurance concerns! Schedule your appointment by contacting the

Please bring a crate or tie-out for your Akita so your Akita can have a safe
"time out" while the owner eats, drinks, wins the raffle, and makes merry ...
Leashes must be no longer then 6 feet. ... Children must be under parental
control. Name tags will be in use so people can connect with each other!! If you
will have your Akita in attendance, please bring along proof of rabies, a crate
if needed, extra leashes to have on hand, and food/treats to keep your Akita
happy!! EVERYONE should bring lawn chairs and blankets if needed for

farthest ... Akita whose owner has owned the most pet Akitas over the owner's

Akita Photo Contest:
Bring your Akitas photos for exhibit, categories are:
Akita being/doing something funny, Akita being an Akita, Akita best friends,
Akita couch potatoes, Akita working dog, and any other!!
FANTASTIC RAFFLE items will be
offered (we always need to help the dogs in our care!!). Your summer wardrobe
and your dog's toy chest can be replenished from the merchandise supplies.

Volunteers wishing to help with bringing food to share can go by the following
so we have an even mix of goodies:

Please bring appetizers, finger
foods, chips/dips, veggies, salads, side dishes
M - Z
Please bring sodas, water,
Deb Karfs will supply
the fabulous desserts including her world famous carrot cake!!
ARWNY will supply the meats to cook and the rolls,
condiments, paper plates, napkins, plasticware --
will need volunteers who love to barbeque!!
So bring your apron and help us feed the
people or dogs
should be left at home.
If your person or Akita is too animal aggressive/stranger aggressive to behave
well while the fun activities and eating are going on,
PLEASE leave him/her
at home. Instead, bring photographs of your person/Akita to share with others.
And do invest the time and effort in training your Akita or Akita person to be nice, in the future.
If you do bring your Akita, please bring proof of rabies, a crate if needed,
extra leashes to have on hand, and food/treats to keep your Akita happy!

Bridge: Take Route 40 East/Atlantic City, follow for approx 7-8 miles, see
Fairgrounds on left side of road.
From Route 295 South in NJ: Take Exit 4, turn left at end of ramp, follow Rt. 48
to Rt. 40, turn LEFT onto Rt. 40 East, follow for approx 4 miles, see Fairgrounds
on left side.
From NJ TURNPIKE:
Take last exit, go thru tollbooths, see "LAST EXIT BEFORE DE
MEMORIAL BRIDGE" DEEPWATER/PENNSVILLE Exit -- take exit on Right, at end of
ramp turn left, see signs for ROUTE 40 EAST/ATLANTIC CITY, get on Route 40 East,
follow for approx 6-7 miles, see Fairgrounds on left side of road.
From the East:
Take Route 40 West through Woodstown. At the light on the west side of town, Rt.
40 makes a right turn. Turn right and continue on Rt. 40. Go straight through
the next light. Cowtown Rodeo will be on your left. The Salem County Fairgrounds
will be on your right, approximately 1/4 mile past Cowtown.
